Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a Republican, said as a former federal official himself, he was reserving judgment about Fast and Furious until all the findings are released.
“It’s my philosophy not to accuse a federal law enforcement agency until you have all the facts,” he said. “There may be a few problems within the organization, but we shouldn’t judge a federal organization – I’m talking about the ATF now – with some possible misdeeds.”
He added, “I am going to let the system take its course.”
Holder said Friday that his testimony to Congress about the operation was truthful and that he hasn’t said more about it because it’s under investigation by the Justice Department inspector general.
Holder also said that the same tactics used in Fast and Furious also were used in an investigation known as Wide Receiver under the George W. Bush administration. The operation allowed hundreds of guns to be transferred to suspected arms traffickers........

SAN ANTONIO -- Five men of foreign descent were taken into custody early Wednesday morning after a break-in at the Bexar County Courthouse. Two of the men are on the FBI's watch list, officials said.

Bexar County sheriff's officials responded to a burglary alarm at 1 a.m. and found two men walking outside the building, sheriff's officials said.
The men were detained after sheriff's officials determined they broke into the building through a door on the fourth floor, sheriff's officials said. Three men were located inside the building and two were found outside near a recreational vehicle.
Surveillance video showed the men walking into the building with an item in their hands, but they did not have the item when they walked out of the courthouse, sheriff's officials said. Investigators have not said whether that item was recovered or what it may be.
The RV contained several documents and proof the men had been traveling across the country for some time, sheriff's officials said.
Sources told ABC News that three of the men appear to be of Morroccan descent and that the men had pictures of courthouses and water systems from around the country.
The men are apparently not cooperating with investigators and are refusing to answer questions, sources told ABC News.
The men told authorities they broke into the courthouse to get a scenic view of San Antonio, but investigators said the circumstances surrounding the break-in are suspicious.
Investigators said the men, all in their early 20s, are not U.S. citizens and told investigators they came into the country on Sept. 11, but it wasn't clear what year they entered the country. Investigators also determined two of the three men are on the FBI's watch list. Their names have not been released.
Authorities swept through the courthouse to look for explosives but nothing was found.
Sheriff's officials said the courthouse will open at its normal hour on Wednesday.
In another development, the San Antonio Police Department Bomb Squad conducted a brief sweep of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center at 5:30 a.m., where a Geospatial Intelligence Convention is taking place. Up to 3,000 people of U.S. and foreign intelligence agencies are attending the event.

(WOAI Radio) —Three men in their twenties, described as French-Moroccan Muslims, are being questioned by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and by officials of the Department of Homeland Security after they were arrested inside the 120 year old Bexar County Courthouse in downtown San Antonio shortly before 2 this morning, 1200 WOAI news reports.I wonder if they have ever came into contact with this Moroccan jihadist recently arrested in Spain over plot to poison water supplies at tourist sites and/or his writings.
Officials say two of the men crawled through a window to get into the 120 year old Courthouse, which is a landmark in downtown San Antonio, and the third was found in a van parked in front of the building.
Inside the van, officials say they found “photographs of infrastructure” including photos of shopping malls, water systems, courthouses and other public buildings which they say were taken in cities nationwide.
“They got travel documents, parking passes, they have been all over the country,” one law enforcement officials who asked not to be identified told 1200 WOAI’s Michael Board on the scene. “A lot of photographic equipment, a lot of documentation equipment inside their vehicle.”
Officials say the three men entered the country legally on visas from Heathrow Airport in London. They didn’t immediately know how long the men have been in the U.S., or what places they may have visited.

(San Antonio Express) –The men, who had been in the United States since mid-September on 90-day tourist visas and travelling in a recreational vehicle, faced burglary charges. They were taken into custody after an alarm alerted authorities at about 1 a.m. that someone was using the courthouse fire escape.

“It’s just so very strange,” County Judge Nelson Wolff told reporters as the men were being questioned. “It’s either some guys on a prank of some sort, or it could be terrorists.”
Authorities found photos in the vehicle of various landmarks, including courthouses and dams, federal sources said, but cautioned that they might be tourist materials. And after questioning them and reviewing surveillance video, it appeared to sheriff’s investigators that the men had no apparent terror or political motive for breaking in, Ortiz said.
